WHAT IS PLANNED GIVING?

A planned gift is a significant gift made during your lifetime or through your will, outside of any donations made with your discretionary income. Charitable giving is an important part of your financial planning and your financial advisor can provide strategies that will maximize the impact of a donation, both on your taxes and the organization.

Legacy Society

You do not have to advise us that you have included Calgary Opera in your estate plans, but a legacy gift is the gift of a lifetime and we want to celebrate your love of opera with you. Joining the Calgary Opera Legacy Society ensures that Calgary Opera acknowledges and directs your legacy gift in the way that you prefer.

As a member, you will be recognized in our production programs unless you wish to remain anonymous. You will also receive a special keepsake and be invited to exclusive Legacy Society events.

HOW TO JOIN

If you have already made a bequest to Calgary Opera and would like to join the Legacy Society, please fill out our Legacy Society Pledge Form and send it to the attention of Stephanie Kallay, either by email or mail.

Please see our Information Sheet about leaving a bequest to Calgary Opera, including our Registered Charitable Organization Number, legal name, and sample language. If you would like to designate your bequest to a specific purpose, we ask that you contact Calgary Opera prior to completing your will to ensure your gift intentions can be met.
